Description

CALMNESS is a landscape at the end of the day. A deep ultramarine sky settles over a soft ribbon of pale yellow, like the last light along the crest of a hill, while a wide field of vivid green fills most of the canvas.

Green, the most restful of colours, sets the mood here, layered with a palette knife into fresh, luminous tones that help the mind unwind. Its square format looks wonderful above a fireplace or a sideboard, or anywhere you want a gentle touch of nature.

In the studio

Every painting begins with a single colour and grows layer by layer. I add, scrape back and add again, with palette knives and brushes, until the surface holds the feeling I am looking for.

LINES | The Essence of Landscape

LINES began with a move from the desert of Abu Dhabi to the English countryside, and with a quiet recognition: the profile of a dune and the curve of a hill can share the same line.

These lines do not describe a particular place, but the memories it leaves behind. Calm and resilient, even when the colours are at their most vibrant, they are the root from which ECHOES grew.

Each original in the series is a unique piece, painted by hand.

Of course. Ask me for close-up photos or a short video of the surface and edges.

Is the painting framed?

No. The edges are painted, so the work is complete as it is. I do not attach hanging fixings, so you are free to hang it in whichever direction you prefer.

How is it delivered?

Original paintings are delivered free of charge to the UK, Europe and selected countries worldwide. Any import duties or taxes are paid by the buyer. If your country is not available at checkout, feel free to get in touch.

Can you create a similar piece in another size?

Yes. I accept a limited number of commissions, creating new works in the same spirit, tailored in scale and palette. Each one is a new original, not a copy. If you would like to discuss a commission, feel free to get in touch.

Will this painting be reproduced as a print?

No. Each original is a unique piece and will not be reproduced as a print. You may, however, find prints of other works in a similar spirit.
